DEEPTI BAGGA :@SHEFALI ARORA

hello shefali..!!i would like to say that you rightly mentioned the non violent means that we used for our independence ,but my worthy opponent are you forgetting th eblood red pages of history post independence?? the butchering of hindus and muslims ,the communal riots that took place that took many innocent lives.where was the non violence ideology,my friend! even BAPU,the originator of this philosophy lost his life due to this.you talked about democracy ,but i would like to mention that our judiciary is weak and under a lot of political pressure.the cases of priyadarshini mattoo and jessica lal still haunt women throughout the nation.in our country if anyone has a revolution to make,he has to pay for it with his life.
you also mentioned the respect of  values and traditions in INDIA,i agree that past has taught us very important lessons.but i would also mention that in the race to ape the west all these values have somewhere lost.the concept of nuclear families have come in place of joint ones.more and more cases of dowry deaths and domestic violence crop up but in vain.Indian govt till now finds it difficult to criminalise ‘marital rape’.women’s reservation bill was thwarted by the likes of lau and yadav.where does present day india stand??
you also told us about our rich culture, folks dances and lok sangeets.i totally agree since india is blessed with a glorious past ,but my friend where is teh recognition in india.only foreigners have learned to appreciate our expertise ,this can easily be known by the general knowledge of our youngsters.they sure well know where disneyland is,but not if kathak and kathakali are different dance forms.
thank you!
