ADITI AGGARWAL-FOR

A very warm good morning to all my friends, and my respected opponents. The topic for today’s debate is “WE ARE INDIANS- ARE WE PROUD OF INDIA?” , and here I am presenting a bit in the favour  of the topic.

India, Incredible India! These two words make us feel proud for being an Indian. India is the only country all over the world which is popularly known as INCREDIBLE. Every Indian should feel proud of India.

India is considered as one of the best tourist place all over the world with hundred’s of beautiful monuments like Taj Mahal, Red Fort, Ajanta Caves, Humayun Tomb, etc. Tourist from all over the world come and praise India for its unique beauty. Their praise for our people and country make us feel proud.

How can we forget the amazing opening of commonwealth games which is a great proof of India’s dignity and wonderful soul of its people. All world is applausing India’s effort. The sportspersons participating in these games are really excited and feeling themselves lucky for being a part of such an event in such a wonderful country.

The past discoveries of India like as introducing zero and decimal system in the field of mathematics proves to be the most significant one. Ayurvedic medicinal and yoga were introduced by India to the world. Ayurvedic medicines are known for its treatment for almost every disease.

Not only this, with more than hundred’s of languages and cultures, India is one such country which show a sign of such a large NATIONAL INTEGRITY. We, the country people, love to celebrate our festivals together without any discrimination of religions. One of the most common example to show this is the presence of “Temple, Mosque and Gurudwara” in a line in Delhi.

Even during the recession period, India’s GDP growth was the highest, this proves our economic stability. And the education quality of our country is the best among all other nations. The other countries are offering better prospects to our people and convincing them to work for them. Students from all over the world are moving towards India for better education and are feeling blessed.

In each and every field India is proving itself with great pride. Sportsperson like Saina Nehwal, Sachin Tendulkar, Abhinav Bindra, Vishwanathan Anand, and many others, are showing India’s talent. Scientists like Dr. CV Raman, Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam, Dr. Swaminathan, Har Gobind Khorana, etc. had given undeniable theories in the field of science. Mr. A.R Rehman, a very well known Indian singer and composer has make us feel proud by winning oscar awards for the song “JAI HO”.

Indian Constitution is considered to be one of the most stable and an ace in democracy. This makes us proud to be part of such a great democracy.

India is the origin of many inevitable discoveries. There is a saying “ DISCOVER INDIA” that clearly implies that we have to find out the hidden things in India that already had been innovated by our ancestors.

At last but not the least, I would like to say that I am proud to be an Indian. I do have lots of thoughts but not that much space to write about this fabulous country.

EVERY INDIAN SHOULD FEEL PROUD FOR BEING A PART OF THIS AWESOME NATION!!!

THANKING YOU
INDIA ROCKS
JAI HIND….

  2. hello aditi...!i would like to raise a point.the incredible opening ceremony in undoubtedly to be proud of as our country does have a rich heritage.but i would like to remind you of the falling foot over bridge, peeling paints, falling ceilings at teh stadia.not only that but sunday's HT carried a news item stating that the broken tiles at the stadia were being obscured by paint.do you associate this with pride??
the police services called in from nagaland todelhi for security purposes is living on just mineral water for 12-14 hours a day, that too from their pocket.is this justied when dilli haat is generously giving away free coke bottles .is water too much to ask in this scorching heat.when will our country pay heed to problems of the grassroot level?
    thanks

  3. hi deepti
as you said that we had called the police from Nagaland for security purposes in Delhi, this shows unity and national integrity in India. Unlike in other countries, atleast in India there is that much respect left in one state for other state that its people is there to help in every way.....
    Just think about of it!!!!
    thank you

  4. hey aditi

reading your post i felt as though we were more focussed on our past glories rather than talking about the present scenario. don't you think that it is time we dwell away from the past and look at the country from the present? what is the present situation of the country? is it soo good that we can ignore the downsides? cwg was a success after we were first humiliated in front of the world. it was all based on ta jugaad. glasglow which is to host the cwg in 4 years has its infrastructure all ready and here we were scrammbling till the last minute to get things done not to mention the corruption that has been rampant, lain bare for the whole world to see.

we have the best education system yet we also have a large no of people leaving the country to foreign lands for jobs. not to mention the fact that atleast two thirds of the country is under the poverty line, uneducated and unaware of their rights. what is the point of having a good education sysytem when most of the population is deprived of its benefits?

u talk abt national integrity. where was this during the gujarat riots or the current ayodhaya verdict where parents were scared to let their kids outside lest there be riots and they be hurt? surely, in a nationally integrated country such things do not happen.

with a population of 1.2 billion and still growing, no basic amenities, education 4 all, most people starving and with no food or money, murder and theft everyday i think it leaves very less to be proud of. i thinnk it is time we see the country for what it is and stop looking at it from rosy glasses.

tourists are scared to come 2 our country lest they be harrassed and raped as it happens every other day. during the cwg, tourists from various countries were asked to make sure they are not too friendly eith the indian cab drivers and be on their guard lest they be harmed. if we can't guarantee the safety of tourists then what is the point of having such monuments when noone's there to appretiate them?
